SEO: Your Guide to a Search Engine Friendly Site

There is a lot of information about web traffic that is circulating out there but the most important thing is starting off with a good website.

If for example you want a gambling-portal website, you will need to come up with the right domain name.

If you do not know what a domain name is, I will explain. The domain name is your URL, which is abbreviated for Universal Resource Locator. It is what goes after the www. Your URL should consist of a phrase or a group of words that have something to do with your site, that way it will double the chances of coming up on a web search. So lets say that your website is a gambling portal, your URL should be onlinecasino.com, people will find that name a lot easier then a URL like mikescasinowebsite.

You must have relevant content on your website. You need to know what your website is for. Are you selling something? Are you trying to make money with your website? Are you trying to bring business to an online casino website? If so, the content that you write should be connected to casinos or gambling. Content can be anything like reviews, articles or tips, pretty much anything that has to do with your site.

You to need to be sure that the user can navigate themselves around your website without getting lost. Nobody likes a hard to use website, so do not expect too many visitors. Each page should be devoted to a different topic and the pages should not be covered with too many banners and advertisements. Your website should be broken down into categories, that way the user will find just exactly what they were looking for.

You also need to add news to your website; it is another bright way to bring traffic to your website. There are tons of people who have abandoned newspapers and read their news only online. Maybe someone wants to read about the latest gambling news like the new gambling law that outlaws online gambling. Also, keep in mind that if your article is well written then Yahoo and Google may adopt it with a link to your website. That kind of exposure will give you hundreds of hits a day.

The most important tip that you should know is that it is very vital to add content everyday. The content can be an article, news, or even pictures. The more you update your website, the more your page rank will increase.

If you use these tips then there is no reason why your website will not succeed. Everyday that passes leaves you at risk of losing money, so make sure you update, update and update!
