Bible History

So as we already know the DH2 was written after the fall of Jerusalem approximately between 586 and 400 BCE. At that hard time the author tried to change the focus of DH1 so that people could understand the all events that happened correctly and continue to believe in God. So the first thin he did in DH2he removed all references to Davidic covenant. Now we have the covenant with Moses that supersedes all covenants. The Solomonic covenant is changed. Author puts foreshadow in DH1 as if he wants to say,

The covenant actually was conditional, it right before your eyes.' Author changes the focus of the history (Deut 4:26, 27; 28:36, 64; 13:18; Joshua 23:16) by saying that if people will not obey the laws of God they will be perished from the land. He writes about going back to Egypt (Deut 28:68, 2Kings 25:26) and writes that Jeremiah goes back with them (Jer 43:6,7). Another thing that we have is two different interpretation of the same story about king Manasseh in DH1 (2Kings 24:3,4) and DH2 (2Cron 33:13) where in the first case God didn't forgive him but in the second case God forgave.
There is also a difference between the 1st Temple and 2nd Temple that was built in 515 BCE. The main difference that we cannot find in DH2 (as we know it was written during this historical period) any reference to the Ark, to the Cherubim; now there is no place to summon in the 2nd Temple. We also don't have any references to priests from Aaron that could indicate that P author wrote after DH2 was completed. However we can find that Jeremiah who lived at that time knew about text of Priestly author (Jer 1:6,8Ex 3:11-13; Jer 4:23Gen 1:2; Jer 3:2; Jer 3:16Ex 1:6) so probably this belief that P author wrote after DH2 is not true. Due to Jeremiah connection with DH1 we can assume that he also wrote DH2, but we have such Chapters as Jer 32,36, 43,45 from where we can see that his secretary Baruch was also present during this period. It indicates that DH1 and DH2 was composed and supervision of Jeremiah and Baruch.

So DH1 was written in 622 BCE and DH2 was written after destruction of the Temple approximately between 586 BCE and 400 BCE by Jeremiah and his secretary Baruch.
